A sacked teacher from Northamptonshire has now been reprimanded by a watchdog for giving cigarettes to pupils.
Jane Eccles admitted giving cigarettes to two pupils at Sir Christopher Hatton School in Wellingborough.
She was sacked for gross misconduct in January 2009 and the General Teaching Council (GTC) has now said she received a reprimand at a hearing last week.
Sir Christopher Hatton, a specialist Maths and ICT college and foundation school, has 1,200 pupils age 11 to 18.
Mrs Eccles was a supervisor at its "in-school exclusion unit" where pupils who had misbehaved were sent for punishment.
A report from the GTC said Mrs Eccles acted inappropriately by supplying pupils with cigarettes on school premises between 2007 and 2008.
Immediately suspended
She admitted supplying cigarettes to two pupils from years nine and 11 on six occasions.
A professional conduct committee found she failed to take reasonable care of pupils under her supervision, put at risk their safety and welfare and her conduct brought the reputation of the profession into serious disrepute.
The committee gave Mrs Eccles a reprimand which will remain on the register for two years.
The governing body of Sir Christopher Hatton School said the matter came to light in December 2008 and Mrs Eccles was immediately suspended.
"She was subsequently dismissed in January 2009 for gross misconduct having, by her own admission, given cigarettes to students on six separate occasions."
