Coventry triplets Katie, Mollie and Daisy Milburn are celebrating after passing their driving tests.
Now they’re about to embark on the biggest test of their lives – being apart for the first time.
The girls from Binley in Coventry all moved away to university on Saturday despite being petrified of leaving each other.
It came after the 18-year-olds – who passed their theory tests on the same day two months ago – ripped up their L-plates together last week.
Mollie, who is studying English literature at Hull University, succeeded in the dreaded practical test only last Thursday.
“I went last so there was a lot of pressure on me,” she said.
“I’ve felt like crying every day for the past two weeks. Leaving my sisters is the hardest thing because, being a triplet, you’re always with them. We’ve gone all through school together with the same group of friends.
“We wanted to be together but we knew being separated would be better for us in the long run – getting that independence.”
The former Blue Coat School pupils all applied to go to university in the North-east to stay together.
Mollie was accepted by her first choice Hull University and so decided not to go to the North-east, while Katie missed out and was accepted at De Montfort University, Leicester, through clearing.
Katie passed her driving test first and is studying for a biomedical sciences degree in the hope of becoming a dentist.
I remember when the only way a student could afford a car was if they bought an old wreck and did it up themselves. Now that's what I call "learning".
