Spon End man jailed after stabbing at Nuneaton pub The PrinceA MAN who left a dad fighting for his life after stabbing him in the neck has been sent to jail for 16 years.
Daniel Elvis Grantham, from Coventry, attacked Craig Hurst, at The Prince in Stockingford, Nuneaton, last September.
Mr Hurst suffered a serious stab wound and had to have emergency surgery.
The quick actions of the landlord and customers in getting him to hospital saved his life.
Grantham, 32, of Sherbourne Street, Spon End, was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after an 11-day trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
He was cleared of attempted murder. After awaiting probationary reports, Judge Patrick Thomas QC announced the prison sentence while sitting at Stafford Crown Court.
He was told that Grantham had 19 separate sets of previous convictions for a total of 93 offences, dating back to 1992 and including robbery, affray and assault with weapons.
