A large section of Coventry ring road will be resurfaced and repaired during a four-week programme of work starting on Monday (September 5).

About a quarter of the road will be affected but to avoid disruption the work will be done between 7pm-6am.

Diversions will be put in place and signed – pedestrian routes will not be affected.

Council spokesman Lindsley Harvard said: “I hope people will bear with us while this work is underway.

“The ring road is a fantastic asset for our city – but we need to do this resurfacing ahead of this winter to avoid frost doing real damage.

“Other council teams will go in while the closures are on to repair lights, weed and clean up so I hope everyone will see a real difference.

Full details of the closures and diversions are available on the city council’s website at http://www.coventry.gov.uk.
