LV County Championship Division One, Edgbaston
Close, day two: Yorkshire 281, Warwickshire 281-6Warwickshire 5pts, Yorkshire 4pts
Shivnarine Chanderpaul hit a century as Warwickshire batted themselves into a promising position against Yorkshire.
Rikki Clarke (4-55) took the final two wickets of Yorkshire's innings in the morning to leave them 281 all out.
Warwickshire lost Varun Chopra and William Porterfield cheaply but Ian Westwood (55) and Chanderpaul (110) steadied the ship.
Tim Ambrose (68 not out) enjoyed a 135-partnership with Chanderpaul as the Bears moved to 281-6 at the close.
Ryan Sidebottom (4-34) moved to 50 Championship wickets for the season with the removal of nightwatchman Chris Meters in the final over of the day.
Chanderpaul's century was his second against Yorkshire in nine days following last week's 192 at Headingley.
And it left Warwickshire in sight of the 350 they need to earn enough bonus points to overhaul Lancashire at the top of the table.
