Mums in Coventry came together to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week with an event in Millennium Place.

The city council’s infant feeding team organised the event and during the morning they talked about breastfeeding and offered advice to families having difficulties feeding their baby.

Dana Hunter, from the infant feeding team, said they were keen to help people, especially in deprived parts of the city, to find out more about breastfeeding.

“A number of mums say that without our support they would have given up breast feeding,” she said.

“Many mums desperately want to do it, but they get the wrong information, or they don’t get enough help and advice. That’s where we step in.”

Mothers from three breastfeeding groups in the city joined in during the city centre event yesterday.

The infant feeding team has been going for more than a year.
