Children's TV favourite Sooty has apologised for injuring Paul Daniels with a pizza.
The 73-year-old magician sought medical treatment after getting a lump of food thrown in his eye during filming of the yellow bear's CITV series.
Speaking through his master Richard Cadell, the 63-year-old puppet said: "Sooty's very sorry for what happened. He never intended to knock Paul out, but he hopes Paul enjoyed the pizza.
"He didn't know his own strength," Sooty continued to
Orange. "But no one can accuse Sooty of having a limp wrist."
Daniels this week despaired at how the Sooty incident had been sensationalised, fuming: "The worse thing is that they've said Paul Daniels is in hospital. I am not. I'm fine.
"I don't even know what this is really about," he added. "Other than there's no other news for The Sun journalists."
