An activity-packed family fun day is being held to celebrate the occasion.

At 12.45pm the man himself revealed it, alongside statue creator Nicolas Dimbleby and some of Hill’s former players such as John Sillett and George Curtis.

Joe Elliott, CCFC life president, said the day promised to be special for everyone who attends.

“The day of the unveiling will be the culmination of a great deal of hard work and generosity from the supporters of this football club as well as the members of the statue committee who have worked tirelessly to see this idea come to fruition,” he said.

“Everyone connected with the football club should feel a sense of pride when this statue is finally unveiled. It is fitting that a tribute to Jimmy, who is a man of the people, has been brought about by the public.

“We want as many people as possible to come along, be part of and share in the excitement of this momentous occasion.”

A free family fun day will also be held as part of the celebrations in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall between 10am and 6pm. Supporters will have the chance to meet Sky Blues players during a signing session with other attractions including fairground rides, soccer skills activities, craft workshops and face painters.

The football club will be showcasing all the facilities available at The Ricoh Arena including stadium tours and the opportunity to sample our matchday hospitality.

There will also be an interactive training session with the Sky Blues squad on the Ricoh Arena pitch between 2pm and 4pm. The training session event costs £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, however it is free to enter for all Season Ticket holders and Junior Sky Blue members.

Supporters will have the chance to cheer on the lads ahead of the pre-season friendly with Norwich City on Saturday, July 30.

Andy Thorn will split his squad into small teams before they go head-to-head in a series of training based competitions. The event will culminate in a penalty shootout between the top two teams.
