Dexter the dalmatian is the proud dad of a rare litter of 16 pups.Click to zoomHis amazing haul of cute puppies made national headlines last week as their mum was also one of 16 pups.
Bitch Millie has had all the attention so far as the puppies live with her and her owner in Shropshire.
But Dexter’s owner Jessica Borras, of Churchover in Rugby, says it is time everyone knew her Crufts award-winning stud helped produce such an amazing lot of pooches.
And even she was amazed with the result when they were born by Caesarean section in May.
She said: “I was shocked and surprised by the number. A dog only usually has about eight pups at a time. Apparently when the puppies were born they just kept popping out.”
Milly’s owners Lisa and Terry Elvins have admitted registering the pups with a kennel club was difficult because no one believed Milly had such a large litter and they had to produce a letter signed by a vet to prove it.
