Some of the attractions will include exhibitions, mini-festivals, workshops and live bands.

There will also be an art trail, which will showcase local talent and retailers.

The festival, which is being backed by Rugby First, Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council, runs from 30 June to 12 July.

Rugby Councillor Heather Timms said: "The festival has provided a fantastic opportunity for local individuals and groups to perform or showcase their work.

"There is a lot happening in Rugby, which we are very proud of, and the festival provides a great platform to shout about it.

"I just can't wait and I hope Rugby turns out in force to celebrate the best of Rugby."

Other highlights include Story in the Park, which is an interactive fairytale adventure, an urban beach and live music at Picnic in the Park.

Robin Richter, chair of Rugby First Ltd, said: "This is Rugby's first Festival of Culture and we are very excited.

"It has created a real buzz around the town."
