The number of people on the dole across Coventry and Warwickshire has fallen for third month in a row, according to the latest figures.
The Office of National Statistics say there were 19,315 Jobseeker’s Allowance claimants in May, 284 fewer than in April.
March saw the first drop in the figures since November and the trend has continued, with both Coventry and Warwickshire seeing a reduction in May.
Overall the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance in the UK has risen by almost 20,000.
Across the West Midlands, the number of people out of work dropped by 28,000 between February and April meaning our region has seen the biggest drop in unemployment of any area in the UK, with 8.8 per cent now jobless.
The worst area in the country is now the North-West, followed by East Anglia.
Total unemployment across the country has also fallen - by 88 thousand to 2.43 million – the biggest quarterly fall in a decade.
The number of young people out of work is also down by 79 thousand.
