The saddest thing is not that she died but that the last few decades of her life were so miserable for her.
RIP Kathy

Melisandre drew my attention to this video about a week ago but can anyone actually remember Kathy singing this in 1965? I know I can't! The song was the runaway favourite to win the competition that year but was trounced by Luxembourg's entry. Kathy responded like any true Glaswegian girl would, she stormed around to the winning singer's dressing room and belted her one. She was French so she deserved it!

Not heard that one before, and I'd not heard the tale either. But it made me smile...

I have only just learned that she passed away May 2011, I'm just catching up with all of this. However, It is saddening that these greats we knew in our youth are all passing away and gone to there eternal rest. I had forgotten what a powerful pair of lungs she had, great singer. Oh for the 60's to return again. Well at least it was better than now!
