Police say they’ve made several arrests but are still looking for the main suspect a week to the day since a man was stabbed to death in Coventry.

48-year old dad Harold Barnes was discovered with a knife wound to his chest on Hillmorton Road in Wood End just before midnight last Wednesday and died in hospital.

Paying tribute, his siblings said: “Our brother was a loving and caring father of three children and a granddaughter.

“He was a fun brother to his two sisters Tracy and Yvonne and his brother Philip, who will hold fond memories of their older brother.

“He was much loved and he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

“The family appeal to anybody who has any information regarding their brother’s death.”

Police say a week on, they have made several arrests but still haven’t located their main suspect.

Detective Chief Inspector Steven Reed, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a tragic incident in which a brother, father and grandfather has died.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident to contact us as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone who saw anything is being asked to call Force CID at Chase Avenue on 0345 113 5000 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
