Police have confirmed a body found in the river in Warwick yesterday is that of a man who went missing last week.
Sukhdev Lota was discovered in the water near Mill Street yesterday.
The 64-year-old went missing last week - officers tell us they’re not treating the death as supicious at the moment – but say it’s unexplained.
In a statement police said: “Mr Lota was reported missing on Monday April 11 and Warwickshire Police has conducted a comprehensive search operation throughout the week along with his family and members of the local community.
A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out today, Wednesday April 20.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious at this stage, but describing it as unexplained.
Mr Lota’s family would like to thank the media and public for their help and support during the past week but ask that they now be left in peace to come to terms with their loss.”
