The speed limit is about to be cut on a busy road in the middle of Leamington, because of the number of people being hurt in crashes there. 
Over the past 5 years, 23 crashes on Warwick Street have left people injured.
After a big consultation, road safety bosses are changing the road to a 20-mile-an-hour zone from the end of April.
Work’s also starting to raise sections of the road, add so-called ’speed cushions’ and improve pedestrian crossings.
Warwickshire County Council Road Safety Engineer Lee Williams, said: “We have been working hard with the community to provide a scheme which suits the aesthetics of a Spa town whilst addressing the high number of collisions occurring along Warwick Street.”
“We have also ensured that the scheme can be adapted further in the future should further needs be identified in the area.”
“The scheme will result in minimal changes to parking bays and loading areas.”
