Woman dies following collision in Stratford

A woman has died and a man has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Warwickshire.



West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Warwick Road in Ingon, Stratford-upon-Avon, shortly before 1820 GMT on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman said the crash involved a car driven by a woman and a van driven by a man in his 50s.

The woman was taken to hospital but died later. The van driver was also taken to hospital with chest injuries.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said the woman was trapped in her vehicle for more than an hour.

"The woman was conveyed to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire. Unfortunately despite the best efforts of emergency service personnel and hospital medics, nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed deceased at hospital," she said.
