Man hurt in Atherstone pub attack

A 54-year-old man suffered serious head injuries when he was set upon in the toilets of an Atherstone pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which was at the White Horse in Long Street, shortly before 10.30pm last Saturday.

The injured man was taken to the George Eliot Hospital for tests on a suspected fractured skull.

The offender is described as a white man, about 5ft 2ins tall, bald and stocky.

He was with a woman who is described as short. Anyone with information should contact police on 01926 415000.
