Motorists hit AGAIN as Government tax grab adds a record 15p a litre to the price of petrol

Motorists are being warned to brace themselves for a 15p a litre increase in petrol that will push up pump prices to record highs.

It will see the cost of a litre of unleaded soar from 108p to 123p – or nearly £5.60 a gallon.

It certainly will have a knock-on effect - it has come down by 2p a litre in most places - but that was probably just cushioning us in readiness for this increase :fuming:

The Daily Mail article is mostly speculation but we know for a fact that VAT will rise by 2.5% at midnight on Thursday.

It has a knock-on effect right across the board - but I believe some of the major retailers are claiming that they will 'absorb' the extra increase - but we'll pay in the long run. :fuming:
