A state-of-the-art health hub has opened in Coventry offering a host of medical services in the community.
Patients help design the new medical centre on Wheelwright Lane, Holbrooks.Doctors aim to create a “one stop shop” for healthcare - including blood clinics, physiotherapy, minor surgery, dentistry, a pharmacy and post-hospital eye care.
The super-surgery in Wheelwright Lane, Holbrooks, has already been highly praised by the patients who helped to design it.
Frances Richards has been a patient at the practice for more than 25 years. She said: “I love this surgery - everything is so up-to-date.
“The doctors here have always been very forward thinking.”
The Holbrooks Health Team began planning the new surgery in 2004 and have meticulously gathered patients’ views every step of the way.
This included a large public meeting at the Parkgate church hall for patients to see the architect’s plans for the centre and offer their views.
Estate agent and patient Malcolm Margerrison, who chaired the meeting, said the suggestions led to some small changes which would have big benefits for patients.
