The venue got a special mention in a BBC documentary about the legendary funny man last weekend.

It has led to staff at the civic hall receiving a flood of emails and telephone calls from people eager to find out when Ken Dodd and his tickling stick will be performing there again.

General manager Tim Norton said: “Ken Dodd has confirmed that he will be appearing in his Happiness Show on May 25 as part of his annual visit to the Civic Hall in Bedworth.”

The King of the Diddymen has been visiting Bedworth for 40 years and tickets sell out fast.

Mr Norton added: “Watching him work is a privilege and there are very few acts that can hold the stage for as long as Ken does.

"In, fact we don’t give an end time for his performance – it’s generally when Ken runs out of steam.”

Tickets are on sale on 024 7637 6707.
