1,000 Coundon homes hit by power cut

Nearly 1,000 homes in the Coundon area of Coventry were without power on Monday morning.



E.On, the gas and electricity provider, was made aware of the huge power cut at 8.49am.

The blackout affected 949 customers around the Holyhead Road and was caused by a problem with the underground network.

Almost half of the affected homes were restored with electricity at 9.31am, leaving a total of 557 homes without electricity.

An E.On spokesman said engineers are on site to restore power to the rest of the homes as quickly as possible.
