A man has survived despite his car plunging 50 feet down a Warwickshire quarry this morning.
The man, who is 38, managed to get out the Vauxhall Astra – which was on its roof - before paramedics reached the scene just off Hartshill Road in Mancetter at around 6am.
He was subsequently taken to Coventry’s University Hospital with a suspected fractured rib, punctured lung and broken pelvis.
The driver of the Honda his Astra collided with was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
