Another law few people are aware of. There's no legal requirement in the UK to clear snow from the footpath in front of your building but if you do clear it and someone slips on the ice as a result they can sue you for damages!

Yes it is and was a very sad day they bought that stupid law in as a young child we use to knock doors asking if they wanted their pathway cleared and we would get paid for doing so it was the first time I learned you had to work to get rewarded in pay no wonder youngesters now want everything handed to them on a plate .

There's a lot of optimists putting their bins out around here.

I just dried mine with a dirty old towel to stop the lid from freezing shut.
