Passenger dies and driver hurt in Warwick crash

A man died and another was seriously hurt when their car crashed into a tree in Warwickshire.

The crash happened in Europa Way, Warwick, at about 0230 BST, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended along with a hazardous area response team, who found a badly damaged car on its side.

The passenger was confirmed dead at the scene and the driver had a suspected broken pelvis and broken legs.

He was cut free from the car and taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment.
