The car collided and ended up in a ditch
A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after the car she was in ended up in a ditch.
The car, which failed to stop for police, had to be recovered by emergency services.
The woman is now in hospital receiving treatment for her injuries.
All three emergency services were called to Leaf Lane in Cheylesmore shortly after noon today (June 20).
In total, officers from both West Midlands Police and Warwickshire Police, along with the fire service and ambulance service, all attended the scene.
On arrival, they found a black Ford vehicle in a ditch beside the road .
The fire service confirmed that one person inside the vehicle was trapped by their injuries, and two fire engines from Coventry were called to "stabilise the vehicle".
The incident has now been referred to the force's Professional Standards Department.
