A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious incident in Nuneaton.

The 30-year-old is currently being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

It follows an incident in Croft Road on the afternoon of Sunday, November 25, which left a 30-year-old man with serious head and neck injuries.

The victim, who has not been identified, remains in a serious but stable condition at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

Investigations have been ongoing since yesterday afternoon and detectives believe it is linked to a number of altercations earlier that day.

Detective Inspector Lisa Sears explained: “Our first priority is to establish a timeline for the series of events that occurred yesterday.

“We believe it started late morning with an altercation between two motorists in Avenue Road.

"From here we have established there were a number of other altercations leading up to the most serious incident in Croft Road.

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any of the altercations in Camp Hill or Stockingford.

"We’re also keen to speak to anyone who has dash cam footage from these areas between 10.30am and 1pm.”

As part of the investigations, officers made two other arrests.

A 25-year-old woman from Nuneaton was arrested on suspicion of assault. She has been bailed until December while enquiries continue.

And a 44-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested and later cautioned for assault and criminal damage.
