The incident happened on Earlsdon Street last night
This is the dramatic moment a hooded thug smashes up a moving car with a baseball bat in Coventry.
The footage was taken last night in Earlsdon Street, Earlsdon, and shows a bare-chested man leaning into the driver's side of the VW Golf before the attack happened.
The car comes to a brief halt before a second man with his hood pulled up and a scarf across his face starts smashing up the back screen with the bat.
As the car moves off, the thug continues to smash the passenger side windows and the windscreen.
Even after the driver pulls away from the scene, the man runs down the road to try and race after the car - weapon in hand.
Onlookers sounded shocked at the incident, which happened around 9.50pm on Sunday.
It's not yet clear what sparked the incident.
A photo posted social media this morning shows tyre marks on the pavement.
West Midlands Police have been contacted for comment.
