But the school says they want to "improve the life chances of the children"



An angry mum has blasted her kids’ school after her daughter compared it to a prison.

Myfanwy Tregowyn, from Wood End , Coventry said she felt as though her kids were being “turned into robots” after hearing about new rules she alleges have come into effect under a new leadership team at the school.

The concerned parent claims pupils are required to walk between lessons silently in single file, which she thinks is “beyond a joke”.

Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, in Potter’s Green, said staff were bringing in practices that would “improve the life chances of the children” and “rapidly improve behaviour standards”.

The mum-of-four has two children at the school, a daughter in Year 10 and an autistic son in Year 7, with her youngest due to start in September - but says she is now unsure what to do after her eldest begged her to let her move.

Myfanwy accused the school of “stopping children from being children” after her own kids told her about a new school rule.

She said: “The children were taken out of lessons to practise walking quietly in single file and if anyone came out of line they would get the whistle blown at them.

“It’s a new school rule, they have to now walk in single file and in silence between lessons. And you get sent to isolation if you don’t follow it.

“My daughter said it’s like being in prison.”

It was pretty much the same menu in our school (I know because I once had to carry the teachers' trays) and I was told they had to pay a lot more for their dinners than we did for ours. They never complained though as the dinner ladies always did a fantastic job with a very limited budget.
I remember once at the end of term all the dinner ladies were summoned to the counter so we could give them a well-deserved round of applause.

May be it s because of my nan making a point your school got the same dinners as the teachers.
