A man who hurled homophobic abuse at a bus driver now has a prison sentence hanging over his head.
Danny Putman was handed an 18-week jail term, suspended for a year, after admitting using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour on a Coventry bus.
It means if he commits any further offences in the next 12 months he could be jailed.
Magistrates also ordered Putman, 29, of Achal Close, Foleshill, to pay £200 compensation to the bus driver who was targeted on October 8 last year.
The threats were said to have “affected the victim’s life”.
