A supermarket worker stole almost £5,000 worth of cash and cigarettes from the store where he worked.

Reece Fairbrother was arrested after being seen to steal from the Morrisons, in Parkgate Road, Holbrooks, and an investigation showed he had also stole a substantial amount of money.

The 20-year-old, of Esterton Close, Holbrooks, pleaded guilty to the theft charges at Coventry Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to pay £4,650 compensation, as well as undertaking 200 hours unpaid work.

He was also made to pay £135 court costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

What's funny is they go berserk if a customer lifts a packet of razors but turn a blind eye to staff knocking off thousands and there's a lot more fiddles going on than just this one.
