Man treated for head injury in wake of mass brawl
A man suffered a head injury as a mass brawl broke out in Coventry city centre tonight.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said there was a report of “some kids fighting” in The Burges but all the youths had subsequently run off.
He added it was not clear whether the man’s injury was connected to the earlier brawl.
The man was believed to be aged in his late 20s.
Police were called to the scene at 4.53pm and West Midlands Ambulance Service also responded.
Several police cars attended and a fast responder paramedic checked the injured man over at the scene, aided by police officers.
The injured man was sat on a bench outside the KFC fast food outlet in The Burges with a bandage wrapped around his head.
Eventually an ambulance arrived to treat him.
It is not known whether he was taken to hospital for further treatment but his injuries were not thought to be serious.
