West Midlands Police close road in Courthouse Green over suspected arson

Police were called to a suspected arson in Courthouse Green during the early hours of this morning.

West Midlands Police responded to a call about a car fire in Purcell Road at around 1.30am.

At around 10.00am, police closed the road for half-an-hour to allow for recovery of the burnt out vehicle.

ne line of enquiry that they are pursuing is that the fire was deliberately set.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a car fire in Purcell Road, Coventry at around 1.30am this morning.

"One line of enquiry is that the car was set alight deliberately.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

Earlier this week, police also began investigations into a suspected arson in Radford .

The incident happened at a mid-terraced property in Caldecote Road at around 3.10pm on Thursday.

No one was in the property, but neighbouring houses had to be evacuated as smoke spread.
