A heavy police presence arrived on scene in Coventry’s Sky Blue Way tonight.

A police tactical support team was among the emergency service response parked at the scene at about 7pm.

Police were blocking off part of the outside lane while they were carrying out their work.

Several by-standers were also at the scene, which was next to Gosford Green Park.

It is not yet known what had happened.

Trio arrested in Coventry police sting in Sky Blue Way released on bail

Three people - including a 13-year-old boy - arrested in a dramatic police sting in Coventry have been bailed by police.

The trio were handcuffed as officers swooped on a car at the junction of Walsgrave Road and Sky Blue Way on Tuesday evening.

Traffic was halted at around 6.30pm as police, including tactical support and dog units, arrested the 21-year-old man and two boys aged 16 and 13 on possession with intent to supply drugs.

They were taken in to custody and questioned by detectives before being released on police bail.

They were travelling in the car with a 22-year-old man who was wanted by Leicestershire Police on suspicion of attempted murder.

His arrest is part of an investigation into an incident where another man was shot in Leicester earlier this year.

The 22-year-old man has also been bailed.

Police issue update after dramatic Sky Blue Way arrest

Three people - including a 13-year-old boy - arrested in a dramatic police sting in Coventry have now been released without charge.

Officers swooped on a car at the junction of Walsgrave Road and Sky Blue Way back in August, with dog units and tactical among those at the scene.

A 22-year-old man in the car was wanted by Leicestershire Police on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Leicester earlier this year.

He has since been released on bail.

Also in the car on the evening of August 2 were a 21-year-old man and two boys, aged 16 and 13, who were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

They answered bail last week and were told they would be facing no further action.
