A woman in her 40s or 50s suffered serious head and chest injuries at a junction in Foleshill

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a car in Coventry.

The collision happened at the junction of Old Church Road and Foleshill Road, Foleshill, at about 4.30pm on Tuesday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said a woman, thought to be in her 40s or 50s, suffered head and chest injuries.

Her condition was so serious that among the medics who attended the scene was a doctor from the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The patient was taken to the major trauma centre at Coventry’s University Hospital.
