Police have released a picture of a man wanted in connection with a stabbing at the Coventry Skydome.

Imran Nsubuga was arrested in December after a 29-year-old man suffered a punctured lung outside the popular nightspot in the early hours of August 30 last year.

Nsubuga, from Whitley Village in Coventry , was arrested on December 14, 2015, and released pending further enquiries.

The 29-year-old was due to answer bail in March but failed to do so and a warrant is currently out for his arrest.

He is facing charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon, as well as being wanted in connection with possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis.

Nsubuga is black, 5ft 10in tall and slim with short black hair.

A spokesman for Coventry Police said: “We have made numerous inquiries at addresses where Nsubuga has lived and places we know he frequents, but so far have been unable to locate him.”

A second man was jailed for a decade in connection with the stabbing.

Lionel Sop, 22, of George Hodgkinson Close, Tile Hill, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon in public and was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court in May.

He was handed nine years behind bars for wounding and two years to run concurrently for possession of an offensive weapon.

The sentence also had an extra 12 months added on for drug offences, making a total of ten years in prison.

My bet is that he's skipped the country. - I know I would if I was facing a substantial custodial sentence and they were daft enough to let me have bail.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Coventry Skydome stabbing suspect in court after being arrested by the Metropolitan Police

A man wanted in connection with a stabbing at the Coventry Skydome has been arrested by police.

An appeal to find Imran Nsubuga, from Whitley Village, was made on Monday and the 21-year-old was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police on Tuesday morning.

He has since appeared at Warwickshire Justice Centre where he was remanded in custody for a future hearing.

Nsubuga was originally arrested in December after a 29-year-old man suffered a punctured lung outside the popular Skydome nightspot in the early hours of August 30 last year.

Nsubuga was released pending further enquiries but failed to answer bail in March and a warrant was put out for his arrest.

He is facing charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon, as well as being wanted in connection with possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis.

Not so sure about that Rebbonk as the CID once told me they give them bail hoping they commit more crimes while out on bale so they can send them down for longer but I think the same as Dutchman he s done a runner out the country.

That's exactly what seems to have happened here?

Drug dealer who used CS gas in Coventry Skydome attack jailed for five years

A young man who used CS spray during an attack at the Coventry Skydome which led to another man being stabbed has been jailed.

Imran Nsubuga used the canister of gas on the victim before he was kicked in the head and eventually stabbed by another of his three attackers at the popular nightspot.

Nsubuga, 21, of Whitley Village, was arrested following the violent attack on August 30 last year, and while on bail he was caught in possession of more than 60 bags of drugs, including heroin and crack cocaine, as well as a machete.

He pleaded guilty to charges of violent disorder, possession of an offensive weapon and possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs in connection with both incidents.

He was sentenced at Coventry Crown Court today to a total of five years in prison.

Prosecutor Thomas Schofield told the court: “The victim was at the Skydome in Coventry socialising with friends, when one of his friends became involved in an altercation.

“When he intervened he noticed Lionel Sop as a man he had previously fallen out with. Sop was with the defendant and a third man who has never been identified.

“Nsubuga had a CS gas canister and during the altercation he used it to incapacitate him. When on the floor they set about attacking him with kicks to the body and head while on the ground.

“After that element of the attack, the defendant and the other man left. Lionel Sop then produced a knife - Nsubuga had no knowledge of that - and used the knife on the victim.”

Mr Schofield also revealed that while on bail for the offence, Nsubuga entered a shop in Earlsdon in December 2015 holding a machete.

He told staff he was being chased by a group of men with weapons, before he was disarmed and held until police arrived.

“Officers found cannabis, 30 bags of heroin and 36 bags of crack cocaine on him, as well as four mobile phones,” Mr Schofield said.

“One on the phone they were able to unlock they found messages indicative of dealing.”

Lionel Sop, 22, of George Hodgkinson Close, Tile Hill, was jailed for nine years for his involvement in the Skydome attack after pleading guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon earlier this year.

He also had an extra 12 months added on to his sentence for drug offences, making a total of ten years in prison.
