A police chase in Coventry ended with a crash and one person being bitten by a police dog.

Two people are in custody after a Jaguar, stolen in Rugby , smashed into another car in Walsgrave when police gave chase.

It is understood one of the people in the stolen car attempted to flee on foot after the crash before a police dog stopped him in his tracks.

The two men travelling in the stolen car were treated for minor injuries along with the driver of the other car.

A statement from West Midlands Police said: “Two men, aged 34 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of car theft after failing to stop for police in Coventry last night (11 August).

“West Midlands Police officers started pursuing the stolen Jaguar on St James Lane, Willenhall, at around 7.40pm until it had a minor collision with another vehicle a few minutes later in Wigston Road, Walsgrave.

“The driver of the Jaguar and his passenger were detained and remain in custody. The driver of the other vehicle was assessed at the scene by paramedics but didn’t require hospital treatment.”

Warwickshire Police will now collect the suspects and take over the investigation because the car was stolen in Rugby.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said they were called to the scene by police at just before 8pm.

He added: “Two 18-year-olds were checked over at the scene - one was suffering from whiplash and the other had a graze on their leg.

“A third patient had suffered dog bites and was taken to University Hospital.”

Has the dog been checked over? - I hope he's OK!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
