Police were called to The Holyhead in Holyhead Road, Coundon, after the attack - which happened at some point between 11pm on December 31 and 10.30am on New Year’s Day.

Most of the cars had their wing mirrors kicked off by the vandal.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing for anyone with information about the attack to get in touch.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said out of the 16 cars damaged only three people have contacted them to report a crime.

As a result officers are also appealing for victims to get in touch.

It’s understood that CCTV of the vandal was passed to police but a spokesman for the force said it was too blurry to identify the suspect.

A spokesman for The Holyhead said: “Unfortunately a number of cars were vandalised in the early hours of January 1.

“We haven’t experienced this issue before and very much see it as a one-off incident.

“Our staff and guests had enjoyed the festive break and we don’t want this to overshadow the celebrations.

“We have informed the local police and can only apologise to our guests for any inconvenience caused.”

If you have any information about the attack - or have been a victim yourself - call police on 101.

If you don’t want to speak directly to police call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

There's been trouble before in Holyhead Road on New Year's Eve. I was extremely fortunate in being able to finish my shopping there that evening without encountering any problems.

So we all now know that their CCTV isn't up to much! :clown:

That apart, knocking wing mirrors off is a particularly nasty trick. It's troublesome and quite expensive to replace them, not forgetting it's an MOT failure. My ex-wife kicked one of mine off a few years back. It cost over £100 plus labour to replace (I didn't want to lose my no claims bonus so paid it myself!) and the car was at the dealers for a whole day.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
