Drama as passengers evacuated from Coventry bus station

Bus passengers were forced out in to the rain after Coventry’s Pool Meadow bus station was evacuated.

The closure of the bus station in Fairfax Street happened at around 3.20pm on Wednesday.

Police officers called to aid staff with the evacuation.

The bus station was reopened just ten minutes later but the exact circumstances behind the incident are currently unknown.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Officers from Coventry Police assisted with an evacuation at Coventry bus station.

“At this stage there is no obvious cause for concern and other areas of the city were unaffected.”
