Bill Wolger was headteacher at Stoke Park Secondary School for 23 years before taking retirement in 2008. He died at his home on Friday, February 26. He was 63-years-old.

Flowers have been left at Stoke Park while pupils past and present have signed several tribute groups launched on the website Facebook.

Speaking to The Observer this week, Guy Sears, headteacher of Stoke Park, paid tribute to Mr Wolger.

"Mr Wolger was a very highly regarded man who was passionate about Stoke Park School and about the childrens’ learning," Mr Sears said.

"The school being at the heart of the community was very dear to him, and that remains a strong legacy as the school goes forward. He knew the children individually, as he did their families. He was respected by all of them.

"He was a dignified, humble and hard working man."

A memorial service for Mr Wolger was set to take place today (Thursday) at 3pm at Coventry Cathedral.
