An elderly man has been taken to hospital after his car ploughed in to a house in Coventry.
The dramatic scenes unfolded in Canley when the silver Volkswagen left the road and smashed through the brick wall of the home in Fairlands Park.
When ambulance crews arrived at just after 3pm they were worried about the structure of the house and firefighters were called.
The firefighters from Coventry and Sheldon stations made the home safe and the homeowner contacted a structural engineer to assess the long-term damage.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said they took the driver of the car, a man in his 80s, to Warwick Hospital with hand and chest injuries.
