Lovers of the traditional fish and chip supper will have to look elsewhere after a long-standing takeaway closes its doors.
Fryways in Nuneaton will no longer be serving up the nation's signature meal after closing down.
Posters have gone up outside the premises suggesting that owners of the business failed to pay the landlord correctly and was forced to vacate the premises.
The News contacted the Abbeygate Shopping Centre but were unable to get any further information about the closure.
The Harefield Road-based takeaway was a firm favourite with many residents who were paying a visit to the town and those getting on and off buses at the nearby station.
As well as fish and chips the restaurant also served a range of cooked breakfasts and traditional meals.
