Everyone Active's Jubilee Leisure Centre in Nuneaton now boasts a new foodbank collection point, where visitors can donate food essentials to be given to families in need.

Staff at the Greenmoor Road-based centre have placed a box in the main reception for the charity after reading about the work the Nuneaton Foodbank does in the News. People can donate food during the centre's opening hours.

Darren Morris, general manager at the Jubilee Leisure Centre said: "We are a local community-based centre and we wanted to offer people the chance to drop off items.

"It is mainly from seeing the article in the Nuneaton News and wanting to help the charity.

"The foodbank supplied the box and we have put it in the main reception.

"It isn't going to be a one off thing, it will be ongoing as a way of helping the community."

David Stanier, spokesperson for the Nuneaton Foodbank said: "Our newest partners are the Jubilee Leisure Centre in Greenmoor Road. General managers Darren Morris and Josh Merry have installed a foodbank collection point in the centre, having read about the work of the Nuneaton Foodbank in an article by Laura Bennett in our local 'Nuneaton News'.

"We are very, very grateful for the ongoing support of all our churches, organisations, and individual donors."
