Hundreds of Santas may not have been dashing through the snow, but they certainly enjoyed a festive frolic through Coventry’s War Memorial Park.

Myton Hospice’s annual Santa Dash saw a nearly 300-strong crowd of families, children and even a handful of pooches take on the 5km route on Sunday in aid of the hospice which has bases in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick.

Sarah Stallard, the hospice’s events fundraising manager, said: “It was a great day and the event is set to raise just over £10,000 for the Myton Hospices - so we are absolutely thrilled.

“It was great to see so many Santas in the War Memorial Park, as well as dogs also taking part in the event.”

The charity is also holding a Warwick Santa Dash this coming Sunday which starts at the town’s hospice and heads around St Nicholas Park.
