Man arrested on suspicion of Nuneaton murder

A man is being questioned on suspicion of murder after the death of an elderly woman in Nuneaton.



The victim was found dead at her home in Golf Drive.

She is said to be aged in her 70s.

Police were called to the address in the early hours of this morning.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “A man was arrested at the address on suspicion of murder and currently remains in police custody.

“More information will be available as soon as the woman’s next of kin have been informed.”

Neighbours said that the woman, who had lived at the address for many years, had been ill in recent times.

Scenes-of-crime forensic experts spent all morning at the scene and community police officers have remained outside the house throughout the day.
