People’s Assembly Against Austerity will hold rally to coincide with Budget DayPressure group People’s Assembly Against Austerity plans to stage a protest in Coventry city centre to coincide with Budget Day tomorrow.
The group is calling on people to join them in Broadgate from 5pm to make their voices heard in opposing cuts which they claim “seek to make ordinary working people pay for a crisis they did not make”.
Chair of the Coventry group Tony Conway said: “The budget continues the policies of this hated government. It attacks those in work and those on welfare.
"It continues the policies which have taken millions of pounds from services across Coventry and Warwickshire – services we all rely on.”
Sandra Durkin, secretary of the group, added: “We say the cuts aren’t necessary and must be opposed. Join us and make your voice heard.”
