DETECTIVES investigating the attack on a 91-year old man in his Leamington home want a man to come forward who may be able to help them with the investigation.
The potential witness walked from Priory Terrace into Victoria Terrace a few minutes after midnight on Monday 16 September and used the Lloyds Bank cashpoint before walking back towards Priory Terrace.
Detectives stressed the man was not in any trouble.
Det Ch Insp James Essex who is leading the investigation into the attack in Gordon Street, said, “This man is not in any trouble, but due to him being where he was at the time he was he may have valuable information which can help us. We urge him to come forward.”
He is described as white with a bald head and wearing a dark jacket which was unfastened.

The 91-year old victim of the attack, who was found in his home at lunchtime by relatives, on Monday September 16, remains in the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he is still on a ventilator and is still in a critical condition.
Scott Melville from Leamington but of no fixed address has been charged with burglary and causing grievous bodily harm. The 38-year-old appeared before magistrates in Leamington on September 19 where he was remanded in custody to appear before Warwick Crown Court on a date yet to be set.
