A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after being stabbed at a house in Coventry.
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the incident, which happened yesterday.
Officers were called to the address in Corbet Road, in Daimler Green, Radford, at about 11am yesterday, after reports that a 17-year-old girl had suffered knife wounds.
The unnamed girl was taken to hospital for treatment, although her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The residential street was cordoned off as forensics officers began their investigations.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said a 17-year-old boy had been detained a short distance away from the house.
The youth was himself taken to hospital after swallowing a quantity of tablets, the spokesman added.
He said: “The house has been cordoned off while officers investigate the circumstances of the attack.”
It is the second stabbing to happen in the city this week.
A 20-year-old woman was stabbed in the chest in a parking area near to flats in Torcastle Close, Paradise, on Monday at about 5pm.
Police are still hunting the attacker, believed to be her ex-partner.
