Police to meet Cheylesmore residents in local cafe

FANCY a cuppa with a copper?

Police in Cheylesmore will be meeting people at Cafe Delicia, in Queen Isabel’s Avenue, on Monday morning from 10-11am.

They’ll be meeting up with residents every fortnight and if it is a success the scheme could be rolled out to other parts of the city.

PCSO Sarah Coton, who had the idea, said: “Many people still prefer to speak to us face to face but might not be able to make it in to a police station.

“We’re therefore inviting people in to speak to us in a more relaxed environment, at a more convenient location.

“Over a cup of tea we can discuss any issues that affect people in the local area and together we can find a solution.”
