Former Coventry DJ Jon Gaunt joins UKIP

Former Coventry shock jock Jon Gaunt has announced he has joined the UK Independence Party.

The former TalkSport DJ and Sun columnist made the announcement at UKIP’s party conference in Exeter last week.

He said: “In 25 years as a broadcaster, although I have always had strong opinions, I have never told anyone who I vote for or how they should vote. I’m breaking the habit of a lifetime because I’m telling you know there’s only one party to vote for... and that’s UKIP.”

As well as recently running a campaign to get Britain out of the European Union, Jon Gaunt has set up a PR agency with his brother, called Gaunt Brothers Ltd.

The agency was behind the ‘PC Pleb’ campaign working with the Police Federation over comments allegedly made by former Conservative government minister Andrew Mitchell.

Under Jon Gaunt’s guidance the federation seized upon reports of a “pleb” comment allegedly made by Mitchell to police outside Downing Street, which saw Mitchell lose his job. The allegations have since been discredited and Mr Mitchell is currently suing The Sun newspaper over the claims.

Jon Gaunt insists he is throwing his weight behind UKIP because of its pro-grammar schools education policy, anti-EU stance and its defence policies.

He continued: “I believe our troops should be treated like heroes.

“And to anyone who disrespects them - bye bye.”

Sadly Flapdoodle, I think he will put a lot of people off.

But, each to his (or her) own!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
