Bunny bonanza at RSPCA Centre in Coventry

A bunny bonanza will be held in Coventry’s RSPCA centre this Easter weekend.

As well as having fun, the charity is hoping to highlight the number of rabbits waiting for new homes.

It is offering a “bunny dating service” for owners with single rabbits and is also providing reduced cost neutering.

Glenn Mayoll, animal centre manager, said: “Rabbits are becoming more and more of a problem for our centre, we have huge numbers waiting for spaces to come in for rehoming but very few people think of adopting a rescue bunny.

"We really hope that will change this weekend and people will not be put off visiting us over Easter.

“We really want people who are thinking of taking on a rabbit to really consider the commitment involved and either opt for a chocolate bunny or a rescue.”

The centre, in Coundon Wedge, currently has 25 rabbits looking for loving new homes including 11 babies that are going up rehoming this weekend.

The event runs from 11am-4pm from today until Easter Monday.
